Position Overview:
The Senior Project Management Staff Manager is responsible for leading the Jenbacher Project Management team across the full product portfolio in the USA and Canada. This role oversees the execution of new unit projects ranging from equipment-only supply to full turnkey solutions, ensuring delivery is achieved on time, within budget, and in alignment with quality and customer expectations. This position plays a critical role in driving operational excellence, financial performance, and customer satisfaction while collaborating cross-functionally.
 
This position will be based in Houston, TX – hybrid work schedule. 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the Regional Project Management team across the Jenbacher product portfolio  
  • Oversee execution of complex projects (equipment-only, containerized, and turnkey), ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and aligned with customer and quality requirements  
  • Set team priorities, manage resources and capacity, and resolve issues while proactively mitigating project risks  
  • Lead performance management, coaching, and development of team members, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement  
  • Serve as a key customer interface during project execution, ensuring alignment and timely resolution of technical and commercial issues  
  • Manage commercial aspects including scope changes, claims, contract clarifications, and payment coordination in partnership with internal stakeholders  
  • Drive cross-functional coordination across engineering, sourcing, operations, service, sales, and finance to ensure seamless project execution and resolution of risks impacting schedule, cost, or quality  
  • Coordinate engagement with partners, subcontractors, and suppliers based on project scope and commercial setup  
  • Oversee claim management, tollgate reviews, escalation handling, and adherence to project management processes, tools, and governance frameworks  
  • Lead project reviews, risk assessments, and reporting to ensure execution consistency, quality, and alignment with operating plan targets (revenue and contribution margin)  
  • Drive disciplined order execution with a focus on cost control, scheduling, budget ownership, and customer satisfaction  
  • Promote financial awareness across the team and support procurement and financial initiatives aligned with margin and EBITA targets  
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process alignment, tool adoption, and execution efficiency  
  • Support training, knowledge sharing, and capability development within the project management organization 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical strongly preferred) or Business/Commercial Management 
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in project management, program management, or related roles  
  • Experience within energy, power generation, oil & gas, industrial equipment, or similar engineered systems industries is required, with preference for candidates from OEM, EPC, or project-based environments  
  • Proven experience leading project teams and managing project managers in a matrix organization with cross-functional stakeholders  
  • Demonstrated experience executing complex, large-scale projects, including equipment, balance-of-plant (BOP), and turnkey solutions  
  • Experience managing full project lifecycle execution, including planning, scheduling, cost control, risk management, and customer delivery  
  • Experience working in customer-facing roles with responsibility for stakeholder management, commercial topics, and contract execution  
  • Strong experience in cross-functional environments collaborating with engineering, operations, supply chain, finance, and service teams 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools  
  • Experience with ERP systems required; Oracle ERP strongly preferred
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as business demands  
  • Valid driver’s license and valid passport  
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship

  • Strong knowledge of project management processes, including cost tracking, change management, risk management, and execution support  
  • Ability to translate technical and commercial project scope into structured workflows and system data  
  • Strong understanding of go-to-market business models, customer contracts, and execution of extended scope and turnkey projects  
  • Solid product and application knowledge, including core engine systems and interfaces with upstream and downstream BOP equipment  
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills across functions, organizational levels, and international teams  
  • Proven leadership capability, including performance management, coaching, talent development, and cross-functional team alignment  
  • Ability to influence decision-making, resolve issues, manage escalations, and drive timely outcomes  
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a structured, results-driven approach and high level of ownership and accountability  
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work in an office and project or field-based environments as required 
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking as needed for meetings, site visits, and project reviews
